:59 Seconds Card Game (Quick Fun or Too Rushed?)

One of my sister and I’s favorite things to do on rainy days was to play cards. It is something we enjoy doing to this day while camping and traveling as well. The :59 Seconds Card Game reminds me of a simple card game I used to play as a kid and I look forward to playing again with another opponent!

Unboxing

The box that this game comes in is slightly larger than my hand. Inside is a small insert of instructions, a large deck of cards and a sand timer.

The Playtime Experience

In order to play the cards must be shuffled well and dealt in a specific pattern set. The cards are all number cards 1-14. You have to set up the game in four stacks. The first stack is player 1’s refresh deck of 5 cards face down in the middle two separate cards as two action decks, the last stack are player 2’s refresh deck also of 5 cards. Then split the deck so each player receives 21 cards. Each player will take the top 5 cards and hold them in their hand. When the game begins each player flips over their action deck and begin discarding cards in their hand. The way you discard is to lay numbers one number lower or higher than the last card on the action deck, as you discard you pick up a new card from the 21 in front of you. If both players are unable to continue discarding they may agree to use the top card of the refresh deck to the action deck as a start over point. The first person to discard all their cards must call that they are out to receive their points. The name of the game is to get to 50 points first. If you discard all your cards before the sand timer runs out you get 10 points, if it is after the timer runs out you get 5 points.
