Who doesn’t love a great Batman toy? Being a DC comics fan, I was excited for my chance to play with the Batman Unlimited Ultimate Bat-Mech Figure. I had a lot of fun playing with him; there were a lot of moving pieces and plenty to do with this compact figurine.

Unboxing

Unboxing the Bat-Mech Figure was a little tricky. My biggest complaint involved the Batmobile located in his chest. It was secured with a zip tie that was so tight I couldn’t cut it without also partially scarring my brand-new Bat-Mobile car, which was obviously disappointing. Once out of the package I had several pieces: the Bat-Mech action figure, Batmobile, small Batman figurine, Bat wings, and two Bat weapons.

The Playtime Experience

The Batman Unlimited Ultimate Bat-Mech Figure can speak when you move him, shoot missiles, and release the Batmobile when you open his chest. He is a bit loud, and there is no ability to adjust volume or on/off switch. The Bat-Mech says things like “scanning for Mutants”, “no Mutants found”, etc., and it automatically turns off after 5 minutes without play. I found that this toy was fun and entertaining, even if it wasn’t the best quality. The small Batman figurine doesn’t fit inside the Bat-Mech or inside the Batmobile, but the Bat wings fit on the Bat-Mech and the weapons fit securely in each of his hands.

Things I Liked

I like that the Bat-Mech comes with both the large figurine and smaller toys to play with. I also like that this comes with batteries installed and is ready to play right out of the package. When launching the Bat weapons the Bat-Mech does launch them pretty far, so that was also fun.

Things I Didn't Like

I really don’t like how loud this toy is and the fact that it doesn’t have an on/off switch. I really prefer toys that I can control at least the on/off portions, but it is better when volume adjustment is also included. I can just see this toy being left in the middle of the floor and me accidentally triggering it and waking up my son.

Appropriate Ages

The Batman Unlimited Ultimate Bat-Mech Figure is recommended for kids ages 3 and up. I didn’t see any immediate choking hazard pieces, but the Bat weapons could be a potential issue if the player is under that 3-year mark. I would say the max age on this toy is probably around 7 years old.

Final Note

I think that if you are really into robots and Batman, the Batman Unlimited Ultimate Bat-Mech Figure is a good choice to fulfill both interests. It was reasonably priced and ready to go right out of the package. With the added bonus of the included accessories I think that this toy has good replay value, but may break easily if dropped repeatedly.
