Unboxing
Poppy is secured in the package with a few ties but with a good pair of scissors she is ready to play within just a few minutes. She comes with demo batteries inside and a matching hug time bracelet for you to wear and interact with her.
The Playtime Experience
There is a lot to the play experience with Princess Poppy. She is wearing her hug time bracelet and when you put yours on and press the button hers lights up at the same time and she with speak. She also has a button on her belly that, when pressed, causes her to speak and the light in her hair to light up. If you extend her arms and cause her to dance she will start singing her “not giving up” song from the movie. She can also be turned on and off with the slider on the back of her head.
Things I Liked
I really liked that Hug Time Poppy’s hair lights up when she speaks and sings. Her Hair is also textured well and looks like her hair from the movie so when it lights up it sort of a an extra surprise.
Things I Didn't Like
I can’t say I have anything I dislike about this toy. I think the hug time bracelets could have been a little better designed since you have to be almost directly in front of Poppy for her to register it.
Appropriate Ages
Princess Poppy is recommended for players 4 and older. However, I don’t see any reason a younger player wouldn’t enjoy this toy as well since there is no concern for choking hazard.
Final Note
I really liked playing with the DreamWorks Trolls Hug Time Poppy and my son thought she was a lot of fun as well. She doesn’t dance on her own but the singing and light up hair makes her really cool. The interactive bracelets are neat but weren’t the coolest part of this toy for me.
