Educational Insights AfterWORDS (Entertaining and Educational!)

This board game is easy to unbox and set up. You will need two AAA batteries for the included timer and a brief look at the included instructions.

There is a quad-folded board game with all 26 letters of the alphabet on it. This game is played using category cards from the included deck and the timer. The timer can be set to 10, 20 and 30 seconds. The start, pull the top card from the deck and put it face up. The first person to call out a word that goes with that category automatically becomes the dealer. The dealer then shuffles the cards and deals 7 cards to each player. The first turn starts with the timer on the last letter of the word called in the beginning of the game. Think category “outside” and word “grass” then the first persons turn would start with the letter S. Once the timer is started the player has the allotted time to come up with a word that starts with that letter and fits into one of the category cards in their hand. You accumulate more cards by using words that are not admissible or failing to find a word before the timer runs out. First person to successfully get rid of all their cards is the winner!

I like that this game can be made more or less challenging based on the needs of the player group. With the timer having the options of 10, 20 or 30 sec you can customize how competitive things are!

I found that the timer didn’t work especially well and was really fussy.

According to the box this Educations Insights game is great for ages 8 through adulthood.

Educational Insights AfterWORDS is a great game full of fun. This is great for any time of the year but will definitely help build vocabulary for young learners. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again!
