Unboxing

Opening up the Sleepy Seas Whale Toy wasn’t really an “unboxing”. There is a small cardboard piece around the head of the whale but this is easily removed from the package by pulling the plastic tags from the whale. The Playtime Experience

By pressing the tail on the Sleepy Seas Whale you will start up the soothing sounds and lights with this toy. The sounds are very relaxing and spa like, it almost sent me off to a nap! The lights are located in the cheeks of the Whale and are best seen in dim lighting. There is an on/off switch in the bottom of the Whale behind a Velcro closure. The sounds and lights only last for 5 minutes at a time, there is no way to make the Whale sounds last any longer than that unfortunately. Things I Liked

The Gund Baby Sleepy Seas Lights and Soothing Sounds Whale Toy was incredibly relaxing to listen to. I loved the sounds, the soothing lights and how soft it is. It is plush, soft and adorable and I loved everything about it!

Things I Didn't Like

I don’t like that there is no way to extend the life of the sound cycle. I wish there was a way to set it for 20 minutes or so. It takes AAA batteries to run the Sleepy Seas Whale Toy so I think running it continuously would turn this whale into a battery eater. However, 5 minutes isn’t enough for my baby to go to sleep and I really would have preferred the ability to control the time limit a little more.

Appropriate Ages

The Gund Baby Sleepy Seas Lights and Soothing Sounds Whale Toy is rated for 0+ so it is great for even your newest bundle of joy. Remember however, it isn’t safe to have plushies in the crib or bassinet with Baby. This would be best in at a safe distance or used for tummy time play.

This Sleepy Seas Light and Soothing Sounds Whale is great, inexpensive and adorable. I loved this and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase for my next little one.
