Unboxing

The play time and unboxing are really one in the same with this series of surprise egg collectibles. The package I purchased was a series 1- 4 pack.

The Playtime Experience

Playing with this series is much like any other blind box or mystery openings. The four eggs in my pack were shaped exactly like the original larger Hatchimal. The eggs are made of a thick, plastic-like material with small purple hearts on the front. The hearts on the eggs are heat sensitive and change color when you rub them with your finger.

It’s a bit difficult to open on its own but I found it easier to sort of crush it between my table and the palm of my hand. Then I was able to take the egg apart and get to my little collectible animal inside. The animals are all so very cute, inside the packaging there is a list of the complete series 1 collectibles. They are brightly colored and many of them have little silver wings on their backs.

Things I Liked

I am really impressed by the design of the collection. The animals are adorable and unique so I am excited to collect more of them.

Things I Didn't Like

I think the heat sensitive hearts on the eggs are interesting but to me it would be better if they were different colors. They all start off purple but it would be nice if when they changed color, they revealed whether or not there is a common, rare, or ultra-rare CollEGGtible inside.

Appropriate Ages

Hatchimal is recommending these small collectibles for collectors 5 and older.

Final Note

These Hatchimals – CollEGGtibles are sure to be a 2017 hit. 2017 toy trends are trending toward mini collectibles and blind openings. The addition of these being Hatchimal themed only adds to the popularity. I look forward to finding more CollEGGtibles for my personal collection.
