John Deere Monster Treads Lightning Wheels Gator

This John Deere Gator is kind of difficult to open. I had to use my scissors and even then it took a lot of muscle. The gator is tied in with thick, paper-like rope ties. Normally, these ties can be unwrapped, untied or somehow easily removed. However the underside of the box looked a lot like a hornets nest so I opted to cut them. Several minutes, some sawing action and plenty of muscle later, I finally had it open!

The activate the light up wheels there is a red pull strip to get things started. The batteries are already installed so you can get right to play time. The oversized wheels make the Gator roll smoothly and easily over most household surfaces. Every time the wheels move they light up and flash green.

I really like how smoothly this gator moves. It is easily one of the easiest rolling “trucks” I have played with in a long time.

I kind of wish there were some sounds with this toy. At least a button with some motor noises or something!

Although this John Deere-themed toy is recommended for players 3 and older. I don’t see any reason that makes me hesitate to give this toy to my 18 month old. I suppose there are some pieces that he could break off, if he was rough enough but with supervision, there are no choking hazard pieces readily available.

My son just about came out of his skin when he saw this John Deere Monster Treads Lightning Wheels Gator. He played for hours watching it roll back and forth while the lights flashed.
