Unboxing
The Kinetic Rock 3 pack came to me in a rather unattractive packaging. It was a simple cardboard packaging with a simple label. It was easy to open though and the different colored Kinetic Rock containers are all packaged separately with the contents inside.
The Playtime Experience
The containers with the Kinetic Rock inside are shaped like rocks in the corresponding colors. The bottom of the “rock” comes off and the contents come out together. I was expecting an experience just as satisfying as Kinetic Sand but I was quickly met with disappointment. Kinetic Rock doesn’t hold its shape nearly as well as its Sand cousin and its held together with some sort of sticky substance. It left a residue on my hands that was less than enjoyable, and it falls apart really easily.
Things I Liked
The colors of the Kinetic Rock are really pretty with flecks of glitter in them.
Things I Didn't Like
I do not like the sticky substance that holds it all together and I don’t like how difficult it is to clean up!
Appropriate Ages
Kinetic Rock is recommended for players 3 and older.
Final Note
I probably won’t purchase Kinetic Rock again after this experience. I really didn’t like the residue on my hand and I really disliked how difficult it was to clean up. With Kinetic Sand I felt like it was a really satisfying sensory experience and such a breeze to clean up, I couldn’t help but love it. But that just wasn’t the case with the Kinetic Rock 3 pack- Grey, Lava and Gold.
