Lego building sets are a great way to express creativity, learn to follow direction and pass a rainy afternoon. The Lego Duplo sets are great for introducing little ones to the world of Lego. The Lego Duplo Disney Mickey Mouse Mickey and Minnie Birthday Parade helps teach kids shapes, colors, numbers, fine motor skills and all while having a good time with their favorite pals.

Once the box is opened the Lego pieces come out of the box mostly ready to play. There are a few little plastic bags that I had to cut open. These bags included Minnie Mouse and her skirt, Mickey Mouse and some of the special Lego pieces for this set. The set did not come with building instructions.
Although the Lego Duplo Disney Mickey Mouse Mickey and Minnie Birthday Parade is supposed to have a birthday type theme, I really didn’t get that from playing with this set. There were a few blocks designed like presents and some balloons but mostly this is a Mickey and Minnie Mouse train building set. There were no instructions so I used the picture on the box to help me build it.
I like that this set has lots of brightly colored pieces and pieces numbered 1-5. It is great to not only be working those fine motor skills but also to take the opportunity to learn about colors and start on number learning.
I really didn’t like that this set didn’t come with any building instructions.
Like many of the Lego Duplo sets this Mickey and Minnie Mouse set is recommended for beginning builders in the 2-5 year range.
I give the Lego Duplo Disney Mickey Mouse Mickey and Minnie Birthday Parade two thumbs up. I didn’t really get the birthday theme in the set but I didn’t really mind that. The train is very cute and all the brightly colored bricks really made for a nice little building set.
