CHECK PRICEI found this set to be very frustrating to unbox. I nearly destroyed the packaging just trying to get into it. There are many smaller pieces with this set, which admittedly is great for play, but does make it rather difficult to unbox. I would strongly recommend bringing extra patience and a good pair of scissors along for the unboxing experience with this toy. Once you have clipped, snipped, pulled, yelled and twisted all the pieces out of place you will find several pieces. There is a main Adventure vehicle as well as several smaller vehicles including a boat and several small Matchbox cars. There is a squid, net, and stingray accessory as well.
The Matchbox Elite Marine Mayhem Rescue Sea Adventure Vehicle doesn’t require batteries to play. There are several moving pieces and a lot of imagination play to be had with this toy. Additionally, it allows for play both on land and at “sea”. The pieces float and allow for your imagination to go wild while you chase and capture the elusive yellow squid.
I like how much this playset has to offer. There are a lot of moving pieces, accessories and imagination play with this set. I also love that it is adaptable to wet and dry play.
The only thing I disliked about this set was the unboxing process. Otherwise this set is a lot of fun and I really didn’t have any complaints.
Matchbox is recommending their Marine Mayhem play set for players beyond four years of age. Likely because some of the pieces could easily be broken off and become a choking hazard for players under three, but the playset is made durably enough to handle the rough play that comes with young players.
I enjoyed my play time with the Matchbox Elite Marine Mayhem Rescue Sea Adventure Vehicle. I like that Matchbox has other forms of play but stays true to what they are known for. High quality toys that last. This toy offers a wide range of imagination possibilities and plenty of fun for a wide age range of players.
