Scientific Explorer Sour Candy Factory Kit (Kind of a Disappointment)

It was easy to unbox the Sour Candy Factory and the ingredients were very clearly labeled and individually packaged. The instructions included several different recipes and one heck of a shopping list.

I unfortunately never go to actually make the Sour Candy. I was so stunned by the list of additional “needs” that I couldn’t even attempt it. The list of included was dwarfed in comparison to the things I could need to provide including specialty items like a candy thermometer, double boiler and food flavorings.

I like the idea behind being able to learn about creating candy and work with your hands with this play kit.

I really disliked that this set required so much additional. I guess if I thought about it I could have figured that this would have been the case but it was rather deflating.

This Scientific Explorer set is recommended for players 8 and older.

I was disappointed by my experience with the Scientific Explorer Sour Candy Factory Kit. I wish it hadn’t been quite as complicated or at the very least had the list of needed items on the outside of the box. It isn’t my favorite thing to get the kit home, open it and then find out that I need to spend additional money for a shopping list a mile long.
