Furby has been around for a long time now, I had one when I was a kid and mine was no where near as cool as the new Star Wars Furbacca! Furbacca is projected to be the highest selling Furby ever made and it is little wonder with his iconic design, adorable sounds and dancing moves.
Unboxing this toy is a pain in the butt. The box is attractively made and a lot larger than the toy itself but the problem is that he is screwed into the box and the openings for the screws are deep and incredibly small. I had to use a screwdriver meant for computer parts to get him opened! On top of that this toy does take 4AA batteries to run and doesn’t have any way to turn him on/off if not in use or traveling.
The Playtime Experience
Upon installing the batteries, Furbacca will wake up and his LCD screen eyes will open, blink and look around. He makes adorable cooing and gurgling noises and when he speaks, sounds a lot like Chewy himself! There is plenty to do with this Furby, he makes different noises and interacts with his environment, i.e. dancing when music is playing. He also reacts to what position his body is in like getting scared when you move him to quickly or turn him upside down.
The fun doesn’t end their however, if it isn’t enough that you can touch his tongue to “feed” him you can also download the app and use this to care for his needs.
Things I Liked
The design on this toy can’t be beat. He is furry and wears a small pack just like Chewbacca from the Star Wars series. He makes noises like him and retains all the fun of Furby by interacting, learning and playing.
Things I Didn't Like
I really wish that this Furby was rechargeable since it will see a lot of play time and will likely run through batteries quickly. I also wish It has an on/off switch because it can get annoying to listen to him when he is moving in a vehicle traveling or after the kids are in bed for the night and he gets moved accidentally.
The Furby is recommended for players 6 and older. I can’t see why a younger child wouldn’t enjoy it however, as long as he didn’t scare them.
I really like the design of the Star Wars Furbacca and I can see why he is quickly gaining popularity. He has all the classic things we love about Furby and includes that element of Star Wars perfect for any fan.
