Unboxing
This Tech 4 Kids Cash Register has one of the most ridiculous unboxings I have ever encountered. Not only was the main unit and the accessories difficult to pull out of the package but the main unit is actually SCREWED into the packaging! It ever I’ve seen overkill packaging strategies. This was it.
The Playtime Experience
This cash register play set comes with play money, coins and ATM card. It also comes with grocery items including milk, juice and sesame oil. It has a store mic, calculator face, and a scanner wand that beeps when the button is pressed.
When you press the button on the scanner wand it adds a total to the calculator face although it is always a different number no matter what is scanned. The microphone button is on the front of the cash register and activates the microphone, however it is of poor quality and makes and ungodly hissing scream when it is on.
The one thing that this cash register play set has that the other didn’t has to do with the ATM card. When you have a total rang up and swipe the ATM card it zeros out the total as paid.
Things I Liked
I like the ATM card feature and how it zeros out the total when you swipe the card.
Things I Didn't Like
The general feel of this cash register is cheap overall. The coins, grocery items and the main unit are made of a rather cheap plastic material.
Appropriate Ages
The Tech 4 Kids register is recommended for ages 3 and over.
Final Note
This Tech 4 Kids Kidstech Supermarket Multi Functional Kids Play Cash Register ended up being my least favorite of the cash registers I have played with. It is cheaply made and there just isn’t enough going on to hold my attention. The ATM card feature is good but that is about the only plus I could find with this one.
